Going Solar
City of Tucson Udall Park, located at 7200 E Tanque Verde Road in Tucson, is now getting its power from the sun! Installed by Technicians For Sustainability (TFS), Udall Park’s solar energy system will help to greatly reduce the environmental impact of running park facilities while generating over $200,000 in financial savings for the City of Tucson over the next 20 years.

City of Tucson Energy Manager Jason Laros says:
"Technicians for Sustainability and the City staff have done an outstanding job coordinating this renewable energy project. The City government now gets nearly 15% of its electricity from renewable resources. Looking forward, we are planning a heavy focus on energy efficiency and will consider building more solar projects over the next five years as part of our energy management plan.”

About Udall Park
Udall Park, located in the northeast part of Tucson, is a popular attraction for its diverse activities at the park as well as in the surrounding area. The 172-acre park includes picnic and parking areas and multi-use fields. Before the site became a park, it had been the location of the Geological Survey Magnetic Observatory since 1909. This is a public park that features a Senior Center and recreation center (indoor basketball and volleyball) with fitness facilities, indoor jogging track, and heated outdoor pool.
