TFS's COVID-19 Response

We are continuing to help Tucsonans add solar and battery storage to their homes. We are very fortunate to provide resources that offer resiliency, peace of mind and financial benefit during periods of uncertainty and emergency, and consumer interest has remained strong.

As active members of our community, we are aware and concerned of the growing presence of COVID-19. We are following local and CDC guidelines to keep both our staff and customers safe and healthy, as we continued to operate with modifications.

Interested in solar and/or storage? Our office and sales staff are working from home, and our site visitors are conducting contact-free site evaluations of homes of people who are interested in purchasing solar. These visits are followed by a scheduled phone call or video conference with homeowners, to discuss our findings, and answer your questions.

Solar and storage installation: For the installation process, our field staff are not engaging with customers in person, and we ask that you do the same for them. The good news is that installing solar is a low-contact experience, and we consider ourselves lucky to do work that can carry on more or less the same under these conditions.

We are wiping down all serviceable equipment before we leave (electric service panel, etc). We are in close communication with our staff about their health and have paid time off that allows staff to stay home when they’re under the weather. Please let us know if you have someone sick in your home, so we can take necessary precautions.

Installation crews are driving to customer homes in separate vehicles, in order to better practice distancing with each other. This means there will be more vehicles than usual at your home during the solar install; thank you for your understanding.

We know that with schools closed, there may be more children at home during installs. TFS staff are working to isolate their work area, block access to ladders and tools. We ask for your help in ensuring that children stay safe by keeping them clear of our work area.

We’ve taken the following steps to reduce the potential for infection and spread of the COVID-19 virus among our team:

  • All job roles that can be performed remotely have moved to working from home

  • We have paid sick leave for all staff and encourage our employees to stay home when they or household members aren't feeling well

  • Our installation crews are arranged to reduce contact among our staff, including separate transportation to jobsites, and distancing on the job

  • All jobsites have cleaning supplies and hand washing and sanitizer stations

  • All in-person group meetings have been transitioned to web conferences

  • We've increased the frequency and intensity of our workplace and work truck cleaning
