Co-Owner With a background as a neuroscientist and mountaineer, Kevin came to sustainability through his connection to nature. He believes in living symbiotically with his environment, which has led him to spend over eighteen years in the renewable energy field. He is NABCEP certified in Photovoltaics (PV). He and his family live with PV, solar hot water, and greywater systems.
Danielle K Fidel
Co-Owner Danielle holds a Master's of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences and a Bachelor's of Health Sciences in Human Physiology. Learning about the relationships between human health and the environment has led Danielle to commit her life to helping people and businesses make sustainability a practical reality. While not working, Danielle enjoys time with her young children exploring the outdoors and picking fresh fruits, vegetables and eggs from their midtown urban oasis. Danielle and her family live with PV, greywater and over 5,400 gallons of rainwater cisterns.
Co-Owner Nicole has a long standing interest in a healthy environment, natural building and sustainability as it relates to quality of life. She brings her skills in administration, human resources, and sudden bursts of cleaning to TFS. Having retrofitted a 1905 adobe with solar, greywater, and rainwater harvesting, she and her family are now in another old home that has gracefully accepted the addition of pv, solar hot water, and greywater.
Co-Owner A native Tucsonan, Data David appreciates the Sonoran Desert and life in Tucson where he enjoys hiking, cycling, and Arizona sunshine. David applies his technology background to designing PV and solar hot water systems with a goal of inspiring clients to help our planet. David lives with PV, greywater, and rainwater catchment systems.
Erin grew up learning about sustainable practices on an organic farm in Maine. She spent the past 15 years practicing bodywork and helping individuals cultivate more respect and compassion for their own bodies. Erin is excited to be a part of TFS, helping people make a positive change by switching to renewable energy and working to preserve our finite natural resources.
Tamarack grew up in Tucson and earned a degree in elementary education at the University of Arizona. In addition to classroom teaching, he has taught outdoor education and energy efficiency seminars, and facilitated a solar energy outreach program. He enjoys cycling to work and lives with PV.
Co-Owner Brian lives in Tucson with his girlfriend Alli, and enjoys hiking, biking and studying various reptiles that occupy the Sonoran Desert. He brings a diverse background to TFS, which includes conservation biology, field herpetology, journalism and outdoor education. Brian lives with PV and composts on a daily basis.
After moving to Tucson in 2013 and making it through the summer, Bruce decided to stick around and joined the TFS team. He and his wife Karla work to reduce their environmental footprint via carpooling, reusables of all sorts, and minimizing at-home electrical usage. When not busy promoting solar, he can be found eating his way through Tucson's food scene, exploring Mexico, and attempting to reduce his daily coffee consumption.
Rafael Gil Ortiz
Co-Owner Rafael, originally from Veracruz, Mexico, moved to Tucson in 2012 in order to pursue a career in renewable energy. Rafael has his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, with a renewable energy focus, from the University of Arizona. He and his wife Alexandrea compost, ride their bikes whenever possible and bring their own bags to the grocery store. In his off time, Rafael practices Brazilian Jujitsu, goes on long hikes and plays soccer.
Sarah is a native Tucsonan happy to be raising her family in the southwest. Her partner Rob is an installer at TFS, and they have enjoyed being part of the TFS family for over 6 years. When Sarah isn't chasing after her three lively kids, she can be found reading, bicycling, poking around in her garden, and bird watching.
Upon the start of 2017, Sandra relocated to Tucson to join the TFS team. As an atmospheric and environmental scientist, Sandra now comes to apply her technical experience and enthusiasm for positive movements in protecting our environment and society. Sandra's career passions can be seen in her TEDx talk entitled "The Untold Story of our Nation's First Climate Migrants" - she is eager to incorporate solar into her work. Sandra is also eager to explore all the outdoor activities her new home has to offer, especially hiking and playing soccer.
With a background in wildlife conservation and animal welfare, Alyssa has always been passionate about sustainability and reducing her impact on the earth. She relocated to Tucson in April of 2017 and is excited to explore all the great birding that Southern AZ has to offer. Her hobbies are adventuring with her dog Boba Fett and trying out new vegan recipes.
